Between October 2019 and February 2020, I undertook the SEDA Supporting and Leading Educational Change (SLEC) short course. This portfolio aims to share my learning journey during this time but I suspect it merely evidences the surface impact. It has been hard work, time-consuming, and challenging but it has also been thought-provoking, stimulating and fun.
Learning alongside other practitioners has been invaluable and I feel I belong to a new network of academic developers. I hope this network also includes the two tutors on the programme whose calm guidance and insightful observations kept us all engaged in reflection.
I still feel I have a long learning journey ahead of me but armed with my action plan and a new professional identity as an academic developer and a new network, I feel inspired to enhance my contribute to the university and the sector and face the challenges that no doubt lie ahead.
